BEIJING, “Xinhua”: On Wednesday, March 20, China’s National Energy Administration reported that the country’s electricity consumption increased sharply in the first two months. (January-February) 2024, up 11 percent year-on-year to 1.53 trillion kilowatt-hours.

According to the report, electricity consumption in primary and secondary industries increased by 11.1 percent and 9.7 percent, respectively. Electricity use in tertiary industry increased by 15.7 percent.

Meanwhile, the data showed that household electricity consumption increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
