Comments from members of the student management of the Future Human Resources Support Project

Risako Yanase (4th year undergraduate student, Department of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering, School of Environment and Society)

I am very happy that I was able to fulfill my dream of watching a movie at Taki Plaza. This event was planned under the theme “The Future of Science, Technology and Cinema” with the desire to “create an opportunity for students to have a relaxed, fun and productive time”.
All the works were definitely worth seeing and I think I learned a lot from watching them myself. In addition to selecting the films to be shown, we also offered quizzes on the content and Professor Koizumi's explanations, so that participants could have a more enriching time.
We think it is very important that we were able to organize such an extraordinary event at Taki Plaza, which is a familiar place for students on a daily basis. We will continue to develop various plans to make Taki Plaza an activity center for even more students, so we appreciate your continued support and cooperation.
Additionally, thanks to all the faculty and staff who supported the planning and management, we were able to make the event a success. I'm really grateful to you.

Kim Nam-kyung (3rd year, Bachelor course, Materials Department, School of Materials Science and Technology)

I always wanted to be able to project movies on the monitor in the second basement and watch them with my friends, so I'm happy I was able to achieve that with “MOVIES IN TAKI”.
This time, as I was choosing from a list of many movies, I had a hard time deciding what kind of movie to choose. As a Tokyo Tech student, I thought it would be more enjoyable if I could watch a science-related movie, so I decided to screen a science fiction movie themed “The Future of Science , technology and cinema. I think it was a good choice, as one commenter said: “I enjoyed remembering the knowledge I had acquired so far and thinking about how I could realize the content of the film. »
Additionally, we asked Mr. Koizumi to explain the movie in order to not only watch the movie but also generate new ideas, and we asked him to explain various points such as what he did didn't understand, what he thought was interesting, and what he missed. Thank you for your explanation.
Additionally, members of the student leadership created quizzes based on scenes from the movie that they wanted people to pay attention to, and also created a website where people can enjoy simple quizzes. I think this idea made it possible to enjoy the film while interacting with other people, unlike watching in a cinema.
